Solar Eclipse - Special Meeting(s)

There will be a special event hosted by the Johannesburg Centre at the Observatory on the evening of 20th June 2001 from 18:00 onwards.

Our guests are the people who are going to Lusaka on the 21st on the two specially chartered aircraft to view the Solar Eclipse and we will be entertaining them with a braai in the grassed parking area next to the Herbert Baker Library building.

The catering is fairly general, so if you have any *really* different eating or drinking requirements, please bring whatever it is along with you so that you too can join in the party.

We will not be be staying up too late as our guests will be having a pretty stress-packed Thursday starting fairly early in the morning.

Secondly, although not yet confirmed, there may be a meeting on Friday 22nd June, also at the Observatory, in the Library building.  The speaker will be one of the Eclipse travellers, Prof. Vladimir Strelnitski.  This will be at 20:00.  This does need confirmation however though this should be done by the time of the meeting on the 20th.
