Good day Lerika

Ster Kinekor is proud to announce...Cosmic Africa is only 3 weeks away from release date... this is a fantastic opportunity for your Astronomical Society members!  I would like to propose to your members, a special screening opportunity for COSMIC AFRICA.  Here is a brief synopsis:-

This internationally acclaimed story highlights the insightful journey of Thebe Medupe and his curiosity with astronomy from childhood.  At age 13, he built his first telescope, and his fascination with exploring the cosmos grew.  Thebe introduces the viewer to the world of mythical and celestial knowledge and the impact modern science plays in further exploring Africa's cosmos.  Ster Kinekor Pictures will be releasing the much-awaited documentary - feature; Cosmic Africa, at Cinema Nouveau on November 14 2003.

This uniquely African story is directed and filmed by the multi-award-winning duo, Craig and Damon Foster, best renowned for the sensational "Great Dance".  Their inspiration for this film came from the real life fairytale story of a young boy with a big dream...The film was co-funded by Cosmos Studios, which are famous for the Carl Sagan documentaries about the Cosmos.  This is the first South African film released on HD.

Although Cosmic Africa will be released on Nov 14th, in Johannesburg, we would like to offer your students and regular Astronomical Society members the opportunity to view the film through a special block booking before the release date.

Dates for the booking are regulated to avoid clashing with other releases, so what we offer is Monday 10th; Thursday 13th (prior to release) or the week following release;  where bookings can be made be it a daytime or evening screening after the release week.

With regards to payment, there is a special discount of 20% off the total price of the block booking, hence tickets usually cost R30 per person (at the theatre), and with a minimum booking of 20 people.

Also would there be an opportunity for us to drop off some COSMIC AFRICA post cards for your visitors and members perusal?  We also have a beautiful poster (A3) available which we would really appreciate placing on your pin board, to be visible to visitors at the faculty for about 2 weeks prior to the release date? We would love the opportunity for the  Astronomical Society  to expose their students and members to this film and increase awareness to all to share.

Cosmic Africa is not only an enlightening celebration of African achievement, its also an entertaining and beautiful piece of cinema, that will appeal to your visitors, be they educators, learners, parents or merely the curious individual who is shares in the pride of Africa's Cosmos.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Best regards
