Venus 2004 Transit website and projects

from: Udo Backhaus, Erhard Hoerber

We have just slightly updated our project site

http://didaktik.physik.uni-essen.de/~backhaus/VenusProject.htm

You can find there six projects for preparation. Most of the related pages are up to now empty but they will be filled in the near future.

The preparation projects are related to

Project 1: Measuring the radius of Venus' orbit

Project 2: Determing of the own geographical coordinates and the projected distance of different observers

Project 3: Determing the radius of the Earth

Project 4: Measuring the angular radius of the Sun

Project 5: Exercises in photographing the Sun and exact position measurements on the Sun's disc (Sunspots)

Project 6: The Transit of Mercury on May 7th, 2003

With our best regards
Udo Backhaus, Erhard Hoerber
