Hi Auke,

Last night I received my MNASSA, which was as usual quite interesting.  However, I note that the advertisement of a change in ScopeX date omits some crucial information, which is bound to lead to some confusion.  ScopeX in Joburg remains on April 24, which is international Astronomy Day.

The Cape centre opportunistically elected to move their exhibition a week earlier, to the 17th.  This, in order to co-incide with another local event, allowing for synergy and the use of a good venue.

Their move does not affect the Joburg event, which sticks to the original date of 24th.  We expect the sky conditions to be more favourable for a star party and would prefer to co-incide with Astronomy Day.  It incidentally enables some people to attend both the Cape and the Joburg events.

Regards,
Chris Stewart
