NEAR SHOEMAKER SURVIVES ASTEROID LANDING

 

NEAR Shoemaker is still operational after surviving an amazing soft landing on the surface of Minor Planet Eros on 12th February. The spacecraft took some remarkable final shots of the Asteroid's surface as it approached it's target landing site.
