Supernova

A supernova was discovered on the night of December 31st 1999.

It was the 200th supernova to be discovered in the year. It was also the 3rd supernova to have been discovered in the particular galaxy since 1900. Some galaxies have had 3 supernovae occur in them within a 10-year period. The next supernova to occur in our galaxy could happen at any time.
