Editorial The tail-end of summer has provided us with some interesting nights for viewing - one or two crystal clear evenings and some really miserable ones where your telescope shudders as it is uncovered. Only a month or two to go and we're back into winter with a plentiful supply of cloudless nights - let's hope the viewing is nice and crisp!. Brian has supplied us with the Sky happenings for March and April and has submitted an interesting Press Release regarding the imaging of a Gamma Ray Burster. Danie has another interesting variable of the month.and Bill Wheaton has given us some updated information regarding NEAR and Stardust, It's good to read what actually happened to NEAR - thanks Bill. There are lots of notices this month - please read them all carefully, especially the one regarding the ASSA Symposium at the South African Museum in Cape Town. We have Two - note two, letters to the Editors this month. Keep them rolling, we thoroughly enjoy this interaction with our members - this is after all, Your monthly magazine. We have a response to the query regarding the origins of the term Blue Moon, but still have received no clarification about our use of the 'Sir Herbert Baker Library' when referring to our monthly meeting place .anyone out there have an explanation? Please note that the AGM in July will start an hour earlier than usual as we will be having a braai as a part of the evening's proceedings. The Editors Chris chris@aqua.co.za, |
