ASSA Joburg Centre on the World Wide Web After much thought and activity by members of your committee, our centre now has an "official" presence on the Internet, or the World Wide Web as some prefer to call it. We are being hosted on the Aqua Information Station domain and our Home Page address is:- ( Please note that there is an underscore ( _ ) between the assa and jhb in the address ). The contents of the Home Page are the result of ideas thrown about by ( mainly ) Evan Dembskey and myself, and so are the result of only two persons input. I would really appreciate any ideas from all of you members out there, as I am sure that there is much we can do to improve both the layout and the content. Some ideas have already been forthcoming from the committee. You will see that we have a section called "Meet the Members of the Joburg Centre". If you would like your name included in this section, please send an eMail to myself. The address is attached hereunder or if you browse the Home Page you will find a label at the bottom, which says "Want to eMail us?" just click on that and you can send me your request. Besides your name, you may also include your eMail address and Personal Web Page address if you have such, and we will add the appropriate links to your name. If you have a favourite Web site (astronomically related of course), or some really great Astro-images (either digital image or photograph) let us have them to add to the appropriate pages. The photos will be scanned and returned to you. The images can be either eMailed or passed on to us on a diskette. We have also added CANOPUS to our site pages starting with the latest issues - and we will continue to add the older issues as and when time is available. When we get to the really old issues, we will attempt to scan them in and save them as a set of images. This is YOUR website if you have any input whatsoever let myself or any committee member know what it is, and we will attempt to sort it out for you. Chris Penberthy
