Astronomical Society of Southern Africa Johannesburg Centre Notice of April Meeting Thursday April 9th 1998 at 8.00 pm at the Observatory. Please NOTE the change from the usual 2nd Wednesday Case Rijsdijk - SALT (Southern Africa Large Telescope) Case is a member of the team at SAAO in Cape Town and has
kindly agreed to fill us in with news of the Large Telescope
project while on a visit to Johannesburg. Future Events Ed Finlay is organising two special week-ends in the upcoming months. A visit to the Boyden observatory in Bloemfontein is being planned - to use the 60-inch reflector - for the week-end of 18/19th April. There is also probably going to be another dark-sky winter
weekend out in the sticks, maybe Swinbourne again, so contact Ed
for more details. Deep-Sky Viewing Saturday evening deep-sky viewing at Tom Budge’s farm,
Protea Ranch, Vlakplaats, will be on the following days : |
