Johannesburg Centre, Astronomical Society of Southern Africa

Editorial

The committee has decided to have another 'Test the Panel' session at this month's meeting. As this was very successful the previous time it was held, we thought it might be a good idea to include it in the Canopus in the form of a Q&A (Question and Answer) column for those who are unable to attend the meetings and have queries like "Why is the speed of light 300,000 km/sec?". Anybody got any ideas on that? But seriously, if you have something that you would like to know the answer to, just contact us and we will try and get an educated explanation for you. We would also like to add, if you should spot an error in something we have included in Canopus, please let us know so that we can rectify the matter in the following issue.
