Notice of October Meeting

The next meeting of the Johannesburg Centre will be held at 20h00 on 8 October 1997 in the Herbert Baker Building, 18a Gill Street, Observatory.
The agenda will be :

1. Welcome
2. Chairman’s Announcements
3. Danie’s Corner                                                - Danie Overbeek
4. The Night Sky                                                 - Ed Finlay
5. “Amazing visual parallels between
         earth and the rest of the universe”               - Wolfgang Lange
6. Any Other Business
7. Refreshments

The Committee has organised a fridge, which is housed in the kitchen. Members and visitors are invited to purchase beers and cooldrinks after the meeting.
Tea and coffee are also available, free of charge. Please bring small change to assist the treasurer.
 

Deep-Sky Viewing

Saturday evening deep-sky viewing at Tom Budge’s farm, Protea Ranch, Vlakplaats, will be on the following days :

4 October 1997
1 November 1997
 

Future Events

In December, the ASSA Johannesburg Centre will be holding it’s annual solstice party at Tom Budge’s farm.
 

Welcome

We would like to welcome all our new members to the society. We look forward to seeing you at our monthly meetings, or other events.
 

General

The committee has decided to have an open observing evening on one Friday a month. The first one will be on 3 October 1997. The telescopes in the Papadopoulos Dome will be opened for viewing from 20h00.
