Notice of April Meeting

Thursday April 9th 1998 at 8.00 pm at the Observatory.

Please NOTE the change from the usual 2nd Wednesday

Case Rijsdijk - SALT (Southern Africa Large Telescope)

Case is a member of the team at SAAO in Cape Town and has kindly agreed to fill us in with news of the Large Telescope project while on a visit to Johannesburg.
 

Future Events

Ed Finlay is organising two special week-ends in the upcoming months.

A visit to the Boyden observatory in Bloemfontein is being planned - to use the 60-inch reflector - for the week-end of 18/19th April.

There is also probably going to be another dark-sky winter weekend out in the sticks, maybe Swinbourne again, so contact Ed for more details.
 

Deep-Sky Viewing

Saturday evening deep-sky viewing at Tom Budge’s farm, Protea Ranch, Vlakplaats, will be on the following days :
