Editorial

This month we have an article from Chris Stewart on the ASSA Crayford Focuser Mk1. For those who are in the painful throws of trying to build their own telescope, this is a really welcome article, which is accompanied by clear and detailed diagrams and a comprehensive list of components and tools required to make this focuser. Thanks Chris. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Chris, on behalf of all those who have attended or are currently attending his classes, for the many hours he has spent guiding and teaching students at the Telescope Making Class. Chris has done this task with tireless enthusiasm, and has been rewarded with some really good telescopes. Some of us have fallen by the wayside (temporarily), but have not given up, and Chris will see some of these finished products yet!

Thanks for your encouragement, Chris.

For those who do not know, Chris has decided to continue his French studies in Belgium for the next year (he’s also been transferred there by his company, Alcatel), so we wish him luck and opportunity. However, an article or two from Belgium, would not go amiss!
