Editorial

In our last issue we included an article written for us by Patrick Moore. In this issue we have a copy a report of a tornado sweeping through his home and causing some damage to his observatory. We sympathise with him and perhaps learn that when we build an observatory we have to take into account the forces of mother Earth.

The minor planet occultation on the 14th February was well observed and we hope to have a report when all observations have been received. For those of you who, like us, had a non-disappearance but who realise the worth of doing minor planet occultations we hope to bring you details of more forthcoming events - TO A SKY NEAR YOU!!

Bill Wheaton continues to provide topical and up-to-date news of space projects and we feel really privileged to have his articles. If we could only plant a bomb under some of our local members to put an article together we would be hugely pleased!! THIS IS AN APPEAL TO YOU, YES YOU, to contribute to this, YOUR NEWSLETTER. PLEASE!!

We have sorted out our mailing list and are now only sending Canopus to the paid-up members. If we have any errors in your mailing details could you please communicate them to Brian Fraser ASAP.
