The Monthly Meeting
Notice is hereby given that the monthly meeting of the Johannesburg Centre will take place at its physical address on Wednesday, 11 September 1996 at 7pm.
Dr. Clem Sunter will deliver his presentation Scenarios.
This will be followed by two short topics by Basil Payne. The first being Life on Mars and the Age of Earth and the other entitled Pseudo Science.
Visit the Pretoria Centre
The Pretoria Centre has extended an open invitation to the members of the Johannesburg Centre to join them for their monthly meeting. This will take place on 23 October at the Christian Brothers. College, Silverton, Pretoria. A map will be published in due course.
The Next Informal Meeting
The next informal meeting will be held on the last Wednesday evening of the month that is Wednesday 25 September at 8pm in the Sir Herbert Baker Library. The meeting's purpose is to afford you an opportunity to get to know some of the other members. Each evening will be hosted by a different member on a roster basis. The host will have some idea where he or she wishes to steer the conversation, but if we get off the subject -- so what!
Part IV of the Beginner's Course
The course will not be held this month. Dr. Clem Sunter can only accommodate us at 7pm thus displacing the course. Ed Finlay will however be hosting this course again prior to the October meeting.

Exploring Deep Skies
Saturday evening deep-sky viewing on Tom Budge's farm, Protea Ranch Vlakplaats. A braai fire is lit on each occasion, so bring a picnic hamper and your telescope. Family and friends always welcome.
Last month's midnight `till Dawn was very successful so we've decided to do the same once more. This month's viewing will commence at midnight and will run through until dawn! Bring loads of warm things and your breakfast braai.
